The Glendale LyceumThe object of incorporation of the Glendale Lyceum in 1882 by the founding members was to promote higher education, to promote social and friendly relations among members, and to provide literary, musical and social entertainment for members and the Village of Glendale and its vicinity.

The Glendale Lyceum is a private member driven social club located in the historic district of Glendale. We offer members one of the areas finest tennis and paddle tennis facilities, excellent clubhouse facilities and efficient staff to meet all member needs.

The Glendale Lyceum is people. It is that ineffable spirit of Glendale itself that carries on tradition as it grows and changes, that melds newcomer with third generation families, that creates involvement in a wide range of functions. The many facets of our club, as outlined below, details the broad spectrum of our club functions.

Historic Facilities

Beyond the social and recreational offerings, the Lyceum facilities are available to both members and nonmembers to host personal, social or business events. Its quiet elegance and character makes the Lyceum an unforgettable setting for entertaining family, colleagues and friends.

Social Activities

The Lyceum provides a full range of social events for club members. The club hosts such gala affairs as NYE party, Superbowl Party, Valentine's Dinner, Spring Dance, Lawn picnics on Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day, Dinner of the Month, TGIF summer dinners, Directors' Ball and many more.

Sporting Activities

Tennis and Paddle Tennis

No matter the weather, tennis enthusiasts of all ages, will enjoy our clay tennis courts, lighted Omni courts, or lighted platform tennis courts. Whether you play to satisfy your competitive side or just enjoy casual play, you will appreciate the many tennis tournaments, interclub tournaments and outings through the year. Our men and women's tennis pros are available for consult, group or individual lessons and offer a junior program for building a great tennis foundation.


Golf enthusiasts also find a connection at the Lyceum with fellow golfers during our annual golf outing and dinner, complete with awards.


A beautiful swimming pool, baby pool, multi-purpose building and patio provides family fun throughout the summer months. Children enjoy the carefree days of summer and pool games under the supervision of outstanding life guards. Swimming lessons are also available.
